My opinion:
Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton is a dark romance. It’s the first book from the Cat and Mouse Duet.
Adeline Reilly was a popular writer. She had recently inherited her grandmother’s house and moved into it. It was a gothic-style Victorian
house that had a dark sinister aura and something bad had happened there. When she found out about it, she decided to
solve the mystery. Soon Addie realized that someone was stalking her. He was becoming braver with each passing day until he
introduced himself. Z was a ruggedly handsome man who was way too dangerous but that didn’t stop her attraction toward him.
Was it smart of her to be involved with him or would he be her demise?
This is one of the best dark romance books that I have read this year. An incredible mix of romance and mystery/thriller.
Most of the story is focused on the stalker romance and the other part is about the vigilante who’s trying to save young kids from
monsters. The plot is fantastic, it will capture your attention from the first till the last page. The descriptions are on point,
especially in the intimate scenes. It has some horrid scenes but they are not as detailed. The characters are great as well.
They have good chemistry which is obvious from the beginning. They are not your average couple, both of them are attracted to the
dark side. One of my favorite scenes was with the broken doll.
If you love dark romance then I highly recommend you this one.
