Shifting and Shenanigans by Elizabeth Pantley is a cozy mystery. It’s the first book from the Magical Mystery Book Club series.

Paige Erickson and her aunt Gloria aka Glo inherited the Snapdragon Inn from Gee Gee, Paige’s great grandmother. They loved that place and were excited about a new beginning. What they didn’t expect was the big surprise that was hidden under the Inn. A magical adventure was going to take the girls and their new friends to great places…

This is such an entertaining book, there was not even a dull moment. The writing is excellent, very simple with great scenery details. The plot was engaging and so fun. It’s a mystery inside a paranormal mystery. I’ve never read something like that before, it’s like every bookworm’s dream. The characters were an eccentric group that fit together so well. There was a tiny eighty-year-old overly-confident senior citizen leading the pack. A brooding teenager, a tattooed biker chick, a flamboyantly dressed gay man, a fifty-year-old hippie, a petite Asian CPA in business attire, a talking Siamese cat, an optimistic carefree aunt, and a thirty-year-old practical woman.
My favorite part of the book was their interactions.

I loved this book and I highly recommend you to read it. I will rate it with 5 bright stars.
