My opinion:
The Marriage Debt by Clarissa Wild is a dark mafia romance.
Luca De Vos was the heir to one of the most powerful mafia empires in the Netherlands. Jill Baas, was a mafia princess, and the only girl who didn’t want him. After his brother’s death, everyone blamed Jill and as retribution, she had to marry Luca. She did the unthinkable and run away from him. Three years later Jill found out about the upcoming marriage of her sister to him. She couldn’t let her sister ruin her life so she stormed there and begged him to get her position. With her action, she made his dream come true. Jill Baas was finally his to mark, torment and love.
This is one of the best mafia stories I have ever read. It’s written with a dual pov and has many flashbacks to the past in order to explain a few situations. The plot is a mix of arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, bully romance, BDSM, and blood debt.
It’s from those books that suck you in from the first page. The chemistry between the two characters was off the charts. Their scenes were extremely hot, like serious panty-melting. I loved both Luca and Jill. He had two sides. For the most part, he was the bad boy with an obsession but he was also caring, protective and playful. She was the timid, innocent girl who had a dark side inside of her. Their relationship was explosive. My favorite parts were the twist towards the end and the revelation of their feelings.
If you love mafia romance I highly recommend you to read this book. Just make sure to read the Wedding Debt first. I will rate this one with 5 stars.
