Review: What the Fang? by Stacey Kennedy

Willa Farrington’s magic is broken. Shunned by her coven for failing to pass the Summer Solstice Rite, Willa escapes to the one place no witch belongs – Charleston, a city that belongs to vampires. Determined to embrace her new life, Willa opens Cauldron Boil Books, and unexpectedly finds some friends among the vampires…

Until one terrible night Willa ends up on the wrong side of a pair of fangs. Thankfully, her captor’s plan is ruined when Killian Constantine, the drop-dead gorgeous Warden of Charleston, shows up to save her. But just when Willa thinks she’s safe, Killian, rumored to be the most feared vampire in the city, furiously demands to know why she – a witch – telepathically called him for help.

Intent on finding answers, the two embark on a journey to unravel the mystery behind Willa’s attack and their unusual connection. As they get closer to the truth, the fiery passion between them ignites. But their forbidden romance isn’t making them many friends, and just as Willa starts to think that her entire existence is a lie, deadlier forces come out of the shadows. She will need to believe in her malfunctioning magic, trust bloodthirsty vampires, and cross her fingers that she and Killian make it out together… and that neither end up dead.

My opinion:

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

What the Fang by Stacey Kennedy is a paranormal romance. It’s the first book from the Undead Ever After series.

Willa Farrington was a magic-less witch who had been banished from her coven after failing the Summer Solstice Rite. She moved to Charleston a place run by vampires and opened her bookstore, Cauldron Boil Books. For three years she lived happily with her two
good friends. Then one night a few vampires tried to kidnap her but she was saved by the Warden of Charleston, Killian Constantine. She had accidentally called him telepathically for help. Since the threats didn’t seem to stop Killian wanted to help her find the truth. Their journey was filled with danger, love, and happiness. In the end, the little witch had found what was missing from her life.

It’s such a wonderful story. It’s a mix of romance, mystery, and suspense. The plot is simple and has tons of surprises. The slow and steady progress helps a lot in understanding what is happening. It’s an entertaining story that leaves you filling content in the end. The characters were amazing. I liked that they were so different and the strong bond they had. Family (blood or not) and friendship were very important here. Willa and Killian had great and intense chemistry, their scenes were too hot to handle. My favorite parts of the story were the revelation of the truth and how Willa and her dragon changed.

I absolutely loved this book and I can’t wait for the next one. I highly recommend this to everyone.
