Review: Her Undoing by Rachel Leigh

Description:

Nadia
As if things couldn’t get any worse—I’m walking into senior year as the new girl.
The quiet girl.
The girl with secrets that could top a landfill.
Everyone has been so kind, with the exception of Zack Wells.
He’s been taunting me since day one. I’ve avoided him at all cost, but it seems like every time I turn around he’s there. Asking questions, poking at my deepest scars. He’s trying to get a rise out of me, and boy is he ever.

Zack
Nadia Rivers thinks she has everyone fooled with that nice girl facade.
I can see right through it. I’ve got more masks than Batman.
Only I’m no superhero. In our story, I’m the villain and she’s my prey.
I’m going to break this girl, and when I do, I’ll expose her for who she really is.
A liar.
A fake.
After what she’s done to my family, her past is the least of her worries. It’s her future that she needs to be saved from.

My opinion:

Her Undoing is a dark high school romance.

Nadia Rivers was transferred from the Academy to Cutler Creek High because she was being involved in a scandal back there. The town seemed to hate her for it but her parents thought that this change would help her move forward. Unfortunately, they were wrong. There was someone there who wanted her to pay for her «crimes». Zack lost everything because of her and he had the perfect plan made out. But what happens
when feelings are getting involved and the truth is not what you had hoped to be?

The story is told by a dual pov. It is a fast-paced romance with a good plot filled with secrets. The half part holds the mystery of what had happened and the other half is about the brewing romance between Zack and Nadia. We get little information about the past because it’s mostly focused on Zack and Nadia’s relationship. I liked the hot and cold situation, it showed the emotional turmoil he was going through. The pranks were the scariest part of the book. In general, I found it rather sweet, especially the last couple of chapters. The characters were great. Nadia was my favorite and her backbone was my favorite aspect of her character.

It’s a quite nice story that I liked a lot. I will rate it with 4 stars.
