Review: Untamed Devil by Melissa Ivers

Description:

I’m not ready to be a single dad…

I had my life all figured out.

Hockey. A revolving door of women. No strings. No worries.

Until my sister runs off with a man she’s just met and leaves my seven-year-old niece in my living room with nothing but a backpack, a stuffed snake named Leo, and a broken heart.

I need help.

Elle Hurst was only supposed to be in my life for one night–a curvy distraction with a big heart and a wicked sense of humor. But she’s volunteered to watch Chloe while she’s in town, and I have no choice but to let her.

It can’t last.

She has an expiration date, a life to get back to in Savannah, and I don’t do relationships. I know people don’t stick around no matter how much you want them to–it’s a lesson I’ve been taught my whole life.

I won’t risk losing my heart…or will I?

My opinion:

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Untamed Devil by Melissa Ivers is a sports romance. It’s the second book from the Nashville Devils series.

This one is about Tag Harris, a Devil player, and Elle Hurst. Tag was a sworn bachelor with family issues he wanted to forget. Elle had recently broken up and needed a break before she moved back to her hometown to take over the family business. They met at a bar and had an incredible night. It was supposed to be a one-time thing but the next day changed their plans. He ended up with a kid and she offered to help him out. They were spending a lot of time together and getting much closer than they should. On New Year’s Eve, she had to go back to Georgia and he had to stay in Nashville. Could they continue their lives as nothing happened between them?

This is one steamy novella. It has a great plot filled with sassy moments, steamy scenes, and some quite emotional ones. The romance is a slow burn but the lust is there since the beginning. Even though the story is focused on the brewing relationship between the main characters we also get to see a little hockey action and the relationships with the secondary characters as well. The chemistry Tag and Elle have is off the charts and it is so natural. Both of them are incredible but Elle was a bit annoying with her daddy issues. If I had to
choose a favorite character that would be Chloe hands down, that kid is so clever and mouthy. The ending is like a fairytale.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I will rate it with 4,5 stars. I can’t wait to read the next one.
