Review: Harmony’s Embrace by Amber Daulton

Description:

Divorced dad Birley Haynes is too busy raising his children and running his family’s music academy to start a relationship. Then Harmony Holdich, his high school sweetheart, returns home to Willow Springs, Vermont for Christmas and falls into his bed. She brings light and fun back into his life, but he can’t brush aside the threatening incidents around his workplace.

Harmony hadn’t expected a complication like Birley, especially so soon after the death of her unfaithful husband. With her life a mess, she plans to move across the country and start over. All she can offer him is a fling, but her heart yearns for more.

When the threats rise, how will Birley keep his children safe and convince Harmony to give love another chance?

My opinion:

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Harmony’s Embrace by Amber Daulton is a holiday romance. It’s the twenty-third book from the Deerbourne Inn series.

Birley Haynes was a divorced dad of two little kids, Andy and Kay. He recently took over their family business, Haynes Music Academy, after his parents decided to semi-retire. He spent every day holed up in the office and he didn’t have time for anything else. Then out of the blue, his high school sweetheart appeared in their little town which shocked him. It had been years since the last time she
visited and his curiosity drove him to her. One look at her brought memories and desires back. Both of them were single at the moment and it was like a sign to give their relationship a second chance. The pre-existing love and the threats towards him brought them closer and opened Harmony’s eyes. This time they would make it work…

It’s such a cute and romantic story. A quick read perfect for the Christmas holidays. The plot is simple and easy to follow. Most of the story is focused on the second chance romance but there is the mystery/suspense with the threats. There are some sweet moments that reminded me a lot of the holiday movies especially the descriptions of the winter scenery. The characters are great and realistic. Birley was a single dad who tried to take all the responsibilities while giving up on his dreams. Harmony was at loss after giving up on her previous life. Together they were perfect, they completed each other.
My favorite part was the tree lighting.

I liked this story a lot and I will rate it with 4 stars.
